The Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission has embarked on a "Becoming Age-Friendly" program to identify community assets, roadblocks, and opportunities for improving the livability for residents of all ages. Derry is hosting an information session to raise awareness and examine opportunities for cross-generational synergies through a moderated discussion with your peers from Derry.  Invitees include representatives from town departments, school offices, senior housing organizations, youth groups, churches, health providers, and recreational organizations.

The discussion will be led by Commission staff.  They are doing similar sessions at all of the communities in their region.  This allows them to better assess age-friendly opportunities and issues regarding housing and zoning, transportation and accessibility, recreational space, social/civic engagement, community communication and support, and business and economic development.

“Becoming Age-Friendly” emphasizes engagement and understanding of not only the senior population, but also millennials and young adults. We’d like to hear from you! Please take our 10-minute survey at
