Captain Michael Halpin is the facility manager for the Island Pond Road fire station. He is responsible for coordinating the maintenance and repair of the station and apparatus as well as implementing the station budget and energy conservation program. He is one of four company officers assigned to Engine 2, Medic 2, Forestry 2, and Marine 2.

Captain Halpin started in Emergency Services in 1980, with the Bucks County Rescue Squad (PA) where he served as an Emergency Medical Technician. He moved to Derry in 1984, and joined the former East Derry Fire Precinct in 1988. Captain Halpin started full time in 1995, and was promoted to Lieutenant in 1999. Captain Halpin was promoted to Captain in 2001 during the time the English Range Road station was constructed.

Captain Halpin is an Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced, Certified Fire Service Instructor, Certified Fire Officer, and Hazardous Materials Technician with the Southeastern NH Hazardous Materials Mutual Aid District, as well as technical rescue disciplines, and has associate degrees in Police Administration and Electronics.
