Flood Zones & FEMA

Unfortunately, our office cannot issue any letter indicating if a property is located in a flood zone or not as none of our staff members are land surveyors.

Please visit https://derrynh.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=f75c91bf69ae4299b242d933f677ca68.  You can enter your property address and click on the layers - that depict the 100 Year Flood Zone and 500 Year Flood Zone.  In the building department, we have the Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Rockingham County from FEMA effective May 17, 2005 that you can also review.

What Is an Elevation Certificate?  An elevation certificate is a document that lists a building's location, lowest point of elevation, flood zone and other characteristics, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). It is used to enforce local building ordinances and to help determine flood insurance rates.  In order to obtain an elevation certificate, you will need to hire a licensed land surveyor. http://www.bing.com/search?q=derrynh+land+surveyors&form=PRDLR1&src=IE11TR&pc=DCTE
