Discovering Derry Parks & Recreation

This July, Derry Residents are Invited to Discover Everything the Town of Derry Parks & Recreation Department has to offer
Discovery of a lifetime
Summer is here, which means it’s time to get out and discover the great things happening at your local parks and recreation facilities. This July explore the “undiscovered” roles of your local Derry Parks & Recreation Department as we celebrate Park and Recreation Month, A Lifetime of Discovery. A variety of fun activities are available for residents of all ages, stages and abilities to enjoy — including the 4th of July Fireworks Display, the Summer Concert Series at MacGregor Park, Story time in the Park at Don Ball Park, swimming at Gallien’s Town Beach, Tai Chi Quan at Veterans Hall, Fishing at Hood Pond, Youth Tennis Camp at Alexander-Carr Park, and so much more!
We are celebrating Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), by inviting you to explore A Lifetime of Discovery at your local parks here in Derry, New Hampshire. Playgrounds, community centers, sports leagues, and summer camps are just a few of the things that come to mind when we think of Parks and Recreation. But, parks and recreation is so much more than that. During Park and Recreation Month, discover all the ways parks and recreation can improve quality of life, through innovative health and wellness programs, elder services and support, community celebrations, backyard tours, community maintenance and beautification, and collaborative community efforts.
Through a collaboration of minds and commitment to continuous improvement we are dedicated in making a positive impact through health and wellness, social equity, and environmental preservation. In addition, it is our desire to develop and maintain a safe place for all individuals to feel mutually respected whereas all demographics feel confident in engaging within our parks and recreation community whether it be to live, work, and play!
The Town of Derry Parks and Recreation department celebrates you, our community, during Park and Recreation Month and we welcome you to #DiscoverDerryRec
