Assistant Chief Scott Jackson currently serves as the Director of Fire Prevention. His responsibilities include management of the bureau which involves all Technical Plans Review and Code Enforcement. Additional responsibilities include Community Public Education and Fire Investigations.
Assistant Chief Jackson started his career as a firefighter in 1986 before moving to the Bureau of Fire Prevention as a Fire Inspector in 1996. In 1997, Scott was promoted to Lieutenant as the Communications Supervisor. He was then promoted to Captain in 1998 and served as Chief Fire Inspector until 2005. In 2005, Scott transferred back on the line as a Station Captain serving the Island Pond district with the responsibility of the equipment and facility. In July 2015 Captain Jackson was re-assigned to Fire Prevention to fill the vacant Director position. He was then promoted to Assistant Chief in July 2016.
Assistant Chief Jackson is successful in identifying and capitalizing upon innovative opportunities to expand the level of community (customer) services to meet the needs of a diverse population.
