Supervisors of the Checklist Session

Date:
Thursday, September 14, 2023 - 2:00pm

Supervisors of the Checklist Session

The Supervisors of the Checklist will meet in session at the Derry Municipal Center, Room 104, to accept voter registration applications and to consider additions, removals, and changes to the voter checklist on:

Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 2 – 2:30PM

Voter Registration Options

Residents have 3 options to register to vote or update an existing registration:

apply with the Town Clerk on weekdays from 7AM – 4PM

register with the Supervisors of the Checklist at a session; or

register at the polling place at an election.

Voter Information Lookup Tool

Registered voters can view their registration (name, address, and party affiliation) online using the Secretary of State’s Voter Information Lookup Tool:  https://app.sos.nh.gov

Before any election, registered voters can find the location and hours of their polling place, view sample ballots, or track their absentee ballots using the SOS Voter Information Lookup tool.

Viewing the Voter Checklist

Copies of the voter checklist are posted with the Town Clerk, in the lobby of the Derry Municipal Center, and at the Reference Desk at the Derry Public Library.

Role of Party Affiliation in a Primary

Voters affiliated with a party can vote in their party’s primary. Undeclared voters can vote in a primary by declaring an affiliation when checking in with a ballot clerk at the polls.

Party affiliation cannot be changed in the 90 days before a primary.

Voters are advised to check their party affiliation (available on the posted checklists or on the Voter Information Lookup Tool) before the cut-off date for party changes in case they wish to change their affiliation.

The cutoff date for party changes before the 2024 New Hampshire Presidential Primary has not been determined yet. When Secretary of State Scanlan announces the date for the New Hampshire Presidential Primary, he will set the last day voters can change party affiliation. It is expected to be in October. The Supervisors of the Checklist will schedule an evening session on the last day for changes to party affiliation and provide notice to the public.
